About the Show:
Awowakii is a living room comedy of errors centered on Chrissy Two-Guns, a Blackfoot transgender woman, and her estranged father, Joseph, who unexpectedly reenters her life. When Joseph mistakes Chrissy’s friend Toni for Chrissy herself, hilarity and heartfelt moments ensue.
Written by local playwright Sable Sweetgrass and directed by Alanis King, this world premiere is an immersive theatre experience. Set in the intimate Arts Commons Big Secret Theatre, Awowakii envelops the audience in a comedic drama exploring the importance of family and the connections that define us.
